Questions people ask first
- Which certification should I take?
- Pick by role. Associate is for people who use Claude at work without writing code. Developer is for engineers shipping apps on the API. Architect Foundations, then Professional, is for people designing agentic systems. Foundations exams are entry level; Professional assumes production experience.
- Do I need an account?
- Only to keep progress across devices, add proof of certification or post tips. Lessons, diagnostics, drills and mock exams work without one.
- How realistic are the mock exams?
- Each mock follows the published blueprint: the same number of items, the same time limit and the same domain weighting. Questions are scenario-based like the real exam. Scores are shown on the 1000-point scale with 720 to pass.
- How do I book the official exam?
- Anthropic delivers the exams through Pearson VUE, online proctored or at a test centre. Access and fees are set by Anthropic; check the Anthropic Academy for current eligibility. Credentials are valid for twelve months.
- How long should I study?
- People already working with Claude report fifteen to twenty hours per exam. Newcomers need thirty to forty. Take the diagnostic first and spend the time on your weakest two domains.
- Where does the content come from?
- Written from Anthropic's public documentation, the Anthropic Academy courses and the published exam guides, then checked against what people who passed say was emphasised. It is not affiliated with Anthropic.
